When I first took office in 2020, I made a promise: to represent North Pole and Interior Alaska with integrity, common sense, and results. I’m a working Alaskan, not a career politician — I’ve worked the pipeline and run a small business — and I’ve brought that same practical approach to the Legislature every day since. My job is simple: be a reliable, accessible, and effective voice for House District 33.

Getting Things Done

Much of my legislative work has focused on practical solutions — especially expanding access to health care through professional licensing, along with education, public safety, and the Permanent Fund Dividend. I’m proud to have sponsored legislation that:

Expanded access to home dialysis by modernizing licensing laws for drugs and medical devices (HB 96, incorporated into legislation that became law).
Helped address Alaska’s nursing shortage by letting nurses with lapsed licenses return to work more quickly through temporary permits (HB 237, signed into law).
Updated Alaska’s professional licensing laws for architects, engineers, surveyors, and registered interior designers (HB 314).

As Chair of the House Health & Social Services Committee, I also decided which bills moved forward. Sometimes the best way to serve Alaskans isn’t passing more laws — it’s stopping bad ones. When HB 187 threatened to raise state costs while weakening oversight of prior authorization, I didn’t just say no. I brought hospitals, physicians, and insurers to the table and helped build a better solution: HB 144, which modernizes prior authorization through interoperability and application programming interfaces. I was proud to cosponsor it; it passed the Legislature and was signed into law.

Good legislation isn’t about doing more — it’s about doing what’s right. I’ll keep working across the aisle when it benefits Alaskans, standing firm when it doesn’t, and always looking for practical solutions that improve state government.

Lowering the Cost of Living

Interior families pay some of the highest energy costs in the country. I’ve fought for responsible Interior energy development and for bringing affordable, reliable energy — including natural gas — to the Fairbanks area, and I’ll keep working to lower what families actually pay to heat their homes and fuel their lives. Living within our means at the state level is part of the same fight: I don’t believe hardworking Alaskans need more taxes — they need a government that spends wisely.

Experienced Leadership That Delivers

I’ve had the privilege of serving in the Alaska Legislature since 2020. In that time I’ve earned the trust of my colleagues and the experience to be an effective advocate for House District 33. Today I’m one of the most senior members of the 40-member House. Over the years I’ve served on several of the Legislature’s most important committees:

Finance Subcommittees overseeing Public Safety, Corrections, Natural Resources, and Health & Social Services

These assignments have let me shape legislation, hold state agencies accountable, and advocate for responsible government, sound resource development, and the values of Interior Alaska. With experience comes influence — and I’ll keep using it to serve House District 33.

Fighting for Alaska Families

Throughout my service, I’ve introduced and supported legislation to protect and strengthen the Permanent Fund Dividend, improve public safety, promote responsible government and fiscal accountability, expand economic opportunity through resource development, improve health care policy and oversight, and strengthen education and local communities. Every bill I sponsor begins with one question: “Will this make life better for the people I represent?”

Accessible and Accountable

Representing District 33 means more than casting votes in Juneau. It means listening to constituents, responding to concerns, and being available all year — meeting with residents, working with community organizations, and advocating for Interior Alaska in committee. I put the interests of my constituents first.

Looking Ahead

There’s still important work to do. I’ll keep fighting for a full and fair Permanent Fund Dividend, responsible budgeting, lower energy costs, strong constitutional rights, safe communities, and an economy that grows without unnecessary government interference. My promise is the same as when I first ran: to represent District 33 with honesty, integrity, and proven leadership.

This November, Alaska uses ranked-choice voting. I’d be honored to be your #1 — and if another candidate is your first choice, I’d be grateful to be your second. Either way, let’s keep proven, steady leadership working for House District 33.
